истУправление цензуры, Цензурное управлениеФедеральное ведомство, осуществлявшее цензуру переписки американских граждан и организаций с адресатами из иностранных государств в условиях чрезвычайной ситуации военного времени. Создано по инициативе президента Ф. Рузвельта [ Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (FDR)] после нападения на Перл-Харбор [ Pearl Harbor]. Основной целью Управления было ограничение распространения информации, имевшей отношение к военным секретам. Работало в тесном взаимодействии с Управлением военной информации [ Office of War Information]. В 1942 предложило средствам массовой информации принять добровольный "кодекс самоцензуры" [Code of Censorship].
